The corporate office is a 25,000 square foot facility located at 3340 Monroe Avenue in the city of Rochester, NY. Doug Westerdahl, President and CEO, joined Monroe in 1985 and since taking an ownership position in early 1990, he has guided the company to becoming one of the Top 10 independent complex rehab equipment providers in the nation. Over the years, Monroe Wheelchair has become known for their expertise with wheelchair and wheelchair repair, scooters and stair lifts. His extensive experience in custom rehabilitation and wheelchair seating technology combined with a successful track record in home health care operational management, has led to the rapid growth and continued success of Monroe Wheelchair as a top medical equipment provider.

Westerdahl remains active in day-to-day operations. He is an original member of the SportsNet Advisory Board of Rochester Rehabilitation Center, a program designed to develop sports programs for disabled athletes. Additionally, Westerdahl serves on the Board of Directors of NYMEP (New York Medical Equipment Providers) and he chairs NYMEP’s Rehab Committee. Monroe Wheelchair is a member of NCART (National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology). Westerdahl is on the Board of Directors of NCART and chairs the organizations Medicaid Committee. Additionally, Monroe Wheelchair is a member of the MedGroup Rehab Provider Network, and Westerdahl serves on the Network‘s Advisory Group.
